The smell of lemon-scented gum leaves after rain. The golden light that cloaks the land just before dusk.  Australia's extraordinary wildlife – like numbats with sticky tongues who eat thousands of termites every day. So many of us love nature.

But right now Australian animals, plants and ecosystems are reeling from the devastation of this summer's bushfires.

If we all take care of our nature, then we can help restore and protect it. So, where to begin? Here are four great ways you can show some love for our living world today 😊

  1. 🐦Care for wildlife in your neighbourhood – leave water out for wildlife, remove netting to share your fruit trees with bats and birds, plant wildlife attracting flowers, plant native flowers and trees, keep cats inside.
  2. 🐛 Join the ACF Nature Network on Facebook to connect with other people who love nature, share stories and learn all about our incredible living world.
  3. 🐨 Right now, our national environment law is undergoing a once-in-a-decade review. Make a brief comment and join the chorus of voices asking for stronger environment laws that protect our living world.
  4. 🌱 Reach out to your neighbours and organise an event to restore nature in your community, together.
